  5. Glycoprotease (GCP)  (EC 3.4.24.57) [1] or (o-syaloglycoprotein endopeptidase)
  6. is a  metalloprotease  secreted  by Pasteurella haemolytica which specifically
  7. cleaves O-sialoglycoproteins  such  as glycophorin A.  The  sequence of GCP is
  8. highly similar to the following uncharacterized proteins:

  10.  - Escherichia coli hypothetical protein ygjD (ORF-X).
  11.  - Haloarcula marismortui hypothetical protein in HSH 3'region.
  12.  - Yeast hypothetical protein YKR038c.

  14. One of the conserved regions contains two conserved histidines. It is possible
  15. that this region be involved in the coordination of a metal ion such as zinc.
